Principal's Message
Dear Independence HS Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We are excited to begin a new chapter filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement. Whether you’re returning to our campus or joining us for the first time, we are honored to have you as part of the Independence High School community.
At Independence, we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This year, we look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence through strong partnerships with families, dedicated staff, and, most importantly, the amazing students who walk our halls each day.
We understand that every student’s journey is unique. Whether you are seeking a smaller learning environment, need a more flexible schedule, or simply want a fresh start, our school offers a variety of benefits that can support your academic and personal success:
· Smaller Class Sizes: More individualized attention and stronger relationships with teachers.
· Flexible Scheduling: Options that allow students to balance school with work, family, or other responsibilities.
· Accelerated Learning Opportunities: Students can earn credits at their own pace and graduate on a timeline that works for them.
· Supportive Environment: A focus on student well-being, accountability, and real-world readiness.
· Career & College Prep: Guidance and resources to prepare for life after high school, whether that includes college, technical school, military, or entering the workforce.
We believe that every student deserves the chance to thrive in a learning environment that respects their individuality and supports their goals. As Fulton County Schools premier non-traditional high school, we embrace our students’ differences, and we take pride in our diverse population. Thank you for enrolling your child at Independence High School and we look forward to another great school year! One Mission, One Vision, One Goal ~ Success for All Students!
With Warmest Regards,
Tabatha Taylor, Ed. S.
