Principal - Ms. Tabatha Taylor
Ms. Tabatha Taylor graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology. She earned her Master’s degree in Education and her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. Ms. Taylor began her career in Fulton County Schools in 1997 as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair at Banneker High School. In 2001, she began her leadership journey as the Assistant Administrator at Independence High School and was later promoted to Assistant Principal in 2004. In 2010, she was named Principal of Independence High School and has spent over 20 years serving students in an alternative/nontraditional setting. She firmly believes that one size does not fit all when educating our youth and as educators we must meet students where they are.
Assistant Administrator - Ms. Kenyatta Williams
Ms. Kenyatta Williams graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She earned her Master’s degree in Adult Education from Central Michigan University and her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. Ms. Williams began her career in Dekalb County Schools in 1998, serving as a classroom teacher, remedial Math and Reading teacher, and Instructional Coach. She was hired by Fulton County Schools in 2022 at Independence High School as an Assistant Administrator. Ms. Williams has over 25 years of experience in education. She values building positive relationships with students and believes that all students can learn and it’s our job as educators to help them develop their recipe for success in becoming productive citizens of society.
