Welcome To The Media Center

The school media center serves as a hub for information, learning, and exploration. It provides resources that support the curriculum and enhance students' educational experiences. The media center is a place where students can discover new ideas, explore different perspectives, and develop critical thinking skills. It also serves as a space for collaboration, research, and creativity, supporting students in their academic pursuits and preparing them for success in a rapidly changing world.

Technology

Independence High School is well-equipped to offer students a technology-enhanced learning environment, and teachers have taken advantage of this by incorporating technology into their teaching methods.

We have Epson interactive projector/whiteboards in all classrooms as well as Dell Laptops. This is to further student involvement and teacher evaluation in the learning process. We also have a Media Center with a variety of both traditional and the latest learning aids . These resources can be used daily. Our Media Center is the hub for research. Our Media Para-Professional, Mr. Charles Bethell, provides students with expert guidance on how to use various online databases as well as in-house resources to complete their projects.

Our Career Technology Department offers very popular topics and courses. Moreover, the Language Arts Department utilizes technology to ignite an interest in reading by students.
